New lens

Recently Craig and I purchased a new lens for our digital stills camera and we are so thrilled with the results. It takes such wonderful pictures. Our other motive for purchasing the lens was that Craig will soon be adapting this to be used with our video cameras so we can achieve the same look (depth of field) but on video tape! I can't wait!

This is my sister's dog Duke. It was nice of him to pose for us wasn't it?

Bon Jovi

Craig and I also saw Bon Jovi last week (I know quite contrasting to John Butler Trio!) However I was a big fan of his in high school so I didn't want to miss maybe my only opportunity in seeing them live. Poor Craig was dragged along!! He did seem to enjoy it though. We unfortunately bought our tickets late which meant we ended up in the nose bleed section of Subiaco Oval with a speaker blocking part of the stage. We however still enjoyed the concert thoroughly and sang along until we lost our voices.

Union of Soul

Craig and I were fortunate enough to see the Union of Soul concert featuring John Butler Trio and The Waifs last week. The concert was held at the Fremantle Arts Centre and it was a fantastic back drop for a relaxed picnic affair.

Both bands were unbelievable and were so brilliant live. John Butler Trio had so much energy and gave out this awesome vibe that made you just want to clap and sing along.

They really know how to entertain. My favourite songs that they performed were Better Than, Good Excuse, Used to Get High, Funky Tonight, Ocean and Zebra. Craig and I left on an awesome high and can't wait until their next concert in Perth.

Waroona

Craig and I worked through Christmas last year so we could take off a few days in January and spend them with my cousins who visited from Melbourne. During their stay with us we took a trip down south to Waroona Dam to go water skiing.

We stayed at the dam for two nights and we had a blast. Here is Craig trying to soak me while we are knee boarding! Unfortunately for me, he succeeded.

We were extremely exhausted when we arrived back home but it was definitely worth every minute!

Russell & Jane - 12th January 2008

Russell and Jane's wedding was on the weekend and what a beautiful wedding to be involved in. Everyone who was part of the wedding was just so friendly and kind, the whole day was just an absolute pleasure. The ceremony was held at Bayview Park in Mosman Park with spectacular views of the Swan River and the reception was held at Tompkins on the Swan.

The photographer Russell Barton had his work cut out for him with a rowdy bunch of guys! But a lot of fun and laughs were had on the day which is exactly what you're after at a wedding. Here is a shot of Russell going to extreme lengths for a shot (there's also me videoing next to him).

Jane was so easy to video, she knew how to hold herself and was very photogenic. Her stunning wedding dress and the bridesmaids dresses were actually made by her extremely talented mum!

Jane and Russell hired the Perth Tram as their means of transport which caused much attention when driving around the streets of Perth. It also made for some great shots.

Russell made one of the most beautiful speeches I have ever heard at the reception. He had all the women in the audience in tears, including me! Congratulations Jane and Russell enjoy your honeymoon and we look forward to being in touch with you when you return.

Andrew & Paula - 3rd January 2008

Our first wedding for 2008 was Andrew and Paula held on Thursday and what a scorcher that was! 40 degrees and it was very humid weather. The ceremony was held at Christ Church in Claremont and the reception was held at Fraser's at Kings Park. Paula looked stunning in her gorgeous wedding dress, she looked like she had just stepped out of a magazine and you could not wipe the smile off Andrew's face all day.

The photographers Brenda and Emma were from A Woman's Touch and took the bridal party to the Old Swan Brewery and Kings Street for some beautiful shots. Next we were off to the reception at Frasier's and no matter how many times we go there the spectacular view always takes my breath away.

Congratulations Andrew and Paula.

Malcolm and Minisha 29th December 2007

Our last wedding of the year was Malcolm and Minisha's which was held at Our Lady of the Rosary in Woodlands. The reception was at the beautiful Burswood Entertainment Complex which served the best buffet meal I have had in years, wow yummo!

The photographer, Rob Watson from Selected Impressions, took the bridal party to the pine plantation in King's Park and to King's Street in the city. The weather started out quite warm but the lovely sea breeze came in and turned it into a gorgeous day. It was a fun and relaxing wedding and you both were so easy to work with. Minisha you are so photogenic, what an easy job we had!

Craig and I were so thrilled to be part of your special day congratulations to you both.

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas to all! We hope you all had a fabulous break and enjoyed some time with family and friends. This year our family got together in Wongan Hills where my brother in law lives and we had a fantastic time clay pigeon shooting. It was the first time I had ever held a gun before and couldn't get over how heavy the 12 gauge shotgun was! I got nowhere near the targets but I had a blast anyway. Craig was quite good at it and hit about 50% of the them. We hope you were all able to escape the heat this year, enjoy your holidays!
